When the U2 Black iPod was first released, I ran out and bought one -- not because of U2, but that the iPod was black and pretty. Within 8 months of having it, the iPod would stop playing and would not reset. I did nothing waited another 3 months to finally take it in to the Apple Store in SoHo where I was issued a replacement.
I have had the replacement iPod for 2 months now and it will no longer work (that is to say it won't reset and the Apple logo keeps popping up along with a cartoon iPod with an unhappy face) I've been told that the battery is dead and that I should buy another, but shouldn't Apple cover this as I've only had the new iPod for a mere 60 days? I've tried for the past 2 days to get an appointment to the Genius Bar but the SoHo location is the ONLY store in NYC and apparently more Manhattanians get up before 7 to mark their territories on-line...
(insert big sigh here)
UPDATE: Thanks to all who left comment and gave advice. I made an appointment yesterday morning, walked in for my 3pm, told them what had happened, and they gave a replacement on the spot -- almost too easy. It is, however, a refurbished one and my warranty on it started yesterday so if there's another problem my fat ass is stomping back in there for a 5th time. Methinks I need a new one (however NO ONE has signed up for any of the offers...not even a friggin' Blockbuster account which could actually be used).
