Remember back in October when I wrote about Von Smith, the amazing 20 year-old white boy who sangs the shizz out of "And I Am Telling You.." and it had it posted on YouTube?
Well apparently he was seen by someone at BET and sang live on 106 and Park yesterday. Here's the clip:

I have never liked the arrogant, self-promoting person that is Donald Trump and after watching him make threats to Rosie O'Donnell and her girlfriend I can safely say that I now loathe the prick man. Was he really calling her out? Do you think he wants to kick her ass??
Donald Trump, you are a piece of shizzle on two legs and I pity your wife and children because they have to say the words "I love you" to both of your faces. And you could never take Rosie down. Ever.
Harumph.

Audacity has hit a new low: O.J. Simpson has given an interview to Fox News about how he "would have" killed Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman if he "had" killed them.
In related news, Denise Brown and Fred Goldman have given a joint interview with Oprah detailing how they "will" kill O.J. when they "finally do" kill him.
Hypothetically.

I had a wonderful weekend in Biloxi, Mississippi spinning the wedding reception of two uber-talented people: David Cook and Shayna Steele.
You may or not remember me talking about Shayna in the past, but if you have not I'd like to just tell you what an amazing talent she is. I urge you to go to her myspace profile and listen to her music namely the song What R We Giving. Her now-husband is pianist/writer/producer/arranger David Cook who has played/recorded with many (one of his most "recognizable" gigs he had was touring with N*Sync). He also has his own music which you can hear on his myspace page. They're like the Wonder Twins and their power is talent. "Shape of a Diva" "Form of a pianist!" (Eww...I just hear that out loud.)
Anyway, these two had so much love and friendship around them on their wedding day that it was hard to stop smiling. Their families are amazing, their friends are supportive and I'm so happy that I was part all of it.
CONGRATULATIONS again, Shayna and David. You two rock.

Madonna adopts a 1 year-old boy in Malawi, Africa today. She has also given $3 million on "programs to support orphans" and will give an additional $1 million to a documentary about the children of Malawi's plight.
It's nice to hear good things in the news, isn't it?
P.S. I'm available for manny services if you need, Mrs. Richie.
UPDATE: Liz Rosenberg just killed the story and denied the claim. "I can confirm Madonna is in Malawi on a private visit. She is building an orphanage and child care center and is involved in other initiatives geared toward helping children orphaned by Aids thru the Raising Malawi organization. She has not adopted a baby despite reports that she has."

Ladies and gentleman, it is with great pride that I present to you one half of the new "It" couple Mrs. Sara Potts.
Sara Walter married Shane Potts September 16, 2006 in a small, private ceremony on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
Congrats to the new couple! I couldn't be any happier for the both of you and I wish you all the best.
Could she be any more beautiful? Guess this means she can't be my date to the Pier Dance any more...
I love you much.

She and her son were very close and I'm sure this is a devastating blow to her.

What can I say? I was wrong to think that Tom and Katie didn't really have a baby; that Katie was faking her pregnancy. I see now that the baby is for real-real (not for play-play) and I must say that I find her to be cute. I don't think she really looks like either of them, but that could just be because the baby's NOT HIS. Duh. Alright, maybe it is, but, whatever.
That being said, do they really believe that now that I've seen this cover I now believe Tom really loves women Katie, that the actually conceived this child together, and that this child has a wonderful life to look forward to? Unfortch I still don't buy it (the story they're trying to convey, not the issue -- that things gonna be a collector's item, are you kidding me?) No, I don't buy it one bit. Call me a pessimist.
Nice try though, Tom. You almost got me. You're good, my man. Re-e-e-e-e-e-eal good.

Aww, poor Tom Cruise. His father wasn't present and was a "bully and a coward". He was also "bullied" at 15 schools (*gasp*). How unfortunate. I have a little something I'd like to say to him:
I, too, came from divorced parents and lived, for the most part, with my mother. I, too, had a father who made a few mistakes while I was growing up. I, too, was bullied at all the different schools I attended -- probably because I was a nelly fag.
Where we differ, Tom, is that I told my father (not a magazine) what I was feeling and now he and I have built an incredible relationship. Unfortunately it's too late for you to do that but hindsight is 50/50. You see, Mr. Cruise, no parent actually knows how to be a parent and a good parent is one who can admit that he/she makes mistakes. If I were you I'd consider myself lucky; it could have been much worse. If you don't agree, then ask a child who's been molested or beaten and burned or, worse, locked in a box for the first 10 years of their life. I'd say that's someone who's parent is cowardly, wouldn't you?
As far as being bullied goes, boo-fuckin-hoo. I'm betting you weren't as nelly as I was am so it couldn't have been that bad. Aren't you an action star who does most of his own stunts? What, then, is with the "I'm-A-Big-Pussy' act?
Looking forward to talking to you again soon.
All my best,
Aaron Elvis James

Dana Reeve, Christopher Reeve's widow, died late yesterday of lung cancer. She announced just 6 months ago that she was diagnosed with the disease.
Dana had become the chairwoman for The Christopher Reeve Foundation which "funds research for new treatments for spinal cord injuries and works to improve the quality of life for people suffering from paralysis" and founder of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center.
I feel horribly for her 13 year-old son who, within a year and a half, has lost both of his parents. My heart goes out to him and the rest of her surviving family members.

Last night I had a dream that I was working with a friend of mine (dunno which one) at a hospital for sick children. This "hospital" was actually in my grandparent's big ol' house in Los Alamitos. So there I was with my now faceless friend and we're waiting for the sick little girl to get into her bed when Dolly Parton walks into the room as sort of a surprise visitor. I, naturally, get all excited and my friend introduces us. Her face is exactly like I expect it will be; beautiful, friendly, and glowing. She's told by friend X that I'm a huge fan to which she asks which of her songs was my favorite. I stumble because I can't put my finger on just one. I blurt out, "All I Can Do. Wait...Baby I'm Burning. Or Rosewood Casket from Trio 2. maybe..um..." Then I wake up. Unfortunately I can't shake this dream. I then jumped in the shower (and the blood starts pumpin') and go through every Dolly song I love and STILL can't figure out which is my all-time fave.
What did that free song on iTunes do to me???

Don't know if you're aware or not, but actress Natasha Lyonne has been missing since April. At that time she was subpoenaed to go to court against her next door neighbor , Nicole Schneider, regarding a drug-fueled rampage on said neighbor's apartment. Natasha also threatened to "sexually molest" Ms. Schneider's dog. After she failed to show up for her court date an arrest warrant was issued and Natasha was nowhere to be found. Until now.
She has been found in a hospital bed at NYC's Beth Israel Hospital undergoing treatments for "Hepatitis C, a heart infection, a collapsed lung and is covered in track marks." She is also undergoing methadone treatments for her addiction to heroin*. Up until a month ago, when she was admitted to the hospital, she was reportedly living on the streets. Is that horrible or what?
This news makes me very sad. I am a big Natasha Lyonne fan (from The Slums of Beverly Hills to But I'm A Cheerleader to Die! Mommy! Die!) and hate the fact that she hit rock bottom that horribly. And alone. Does she have no one to turn to? Why it was just yesterday that I was getting a few glasses of champagne for she and Tara...Reid...at...the...Marc....Jacobs -- WAIT A MINUTE! This is all Tara Reid's fault!! Had the two of them never started hanging out, partying at fashion shows and what not, none of this would've happened. I hope you're happy, Tara. Gonna film Wild On the NYC Streets anytime soon? Didn't think so.
Needed a little vent. Sorry.
*Thanks Dan for spotting the typo. She's definitely not addicted to Erin Brokovitch or Wonder Woman.

Question: Why do celebrities insist on gettin' naked in public places if they know the paparazzi may somewhere close? Especially when you've just been hounded by them for screwing Mary Poppins? I realize one cannot let them run the way you live your life, but at least try to remember the Golden Celebrity Rule #26: Behind closed doors one can fuck their own pet, while outside in the open one can merely take it for a walk. Otherwise this will happen (NSFW via Fleshbot)
I NEVER want to be a celebrity. Years ago (10 to be exact) a friend of mine was the personal assistant to a female TV star who had a sitcom named for her. Whenever they came to NYC, I would hang with the two of them and we'd go shopping, out to restaurants/clubs, etc. Unfortunately everywhere we went people stared and pointed/whispered and would ask for autographs at inappropriate times (can't they see she's trying on a bra?). I've never felt so watched in my life -- it was what I think it would be like if you were in drag on a crowded subway. Not fun. Yes, the upside is getting into clubs without having to say a word, getting your meal comped, or being sent free clothes, but at what price??
I prefer to have a life of somewhat-anonymity. That way I can brush my teeth in my own driveway (via Pink Is The New Blog).

Miss Ellie passed away yesterday and I'm a bit sad...
She was kinda like my TV grandma while JR and Sue Ellen were my TV parents. I remember watching Dallas every Friday night with my own grandmother and secretly wishing I could live on a ranch in Texas with a rich oil barron family who's lives were less dramatic than my own. Actually my real father was never shot by his mistress and my mother wasn't a raging alchoholic so maybe they do win on the drama front. Whatever. I just wanted to be a Ewing.
That is, until I met The Carringtons...

I am deeply saddened by the death of one of my favorite actresses Anne Bancroft for a couple of reasons:
* because she was an amazingly kind woman; beautiful on the inside as well as out.
* because she was an incredible and consummate actress. Rent The Miracle Worker if you don't believe me.
* because Mel Brooks has lost his wife, his best friend, and the yang to his yin. Their relationship was comparable to Jessica and Hume or Ossie and Ruby Dee; one that was exemplary.

Michael Lucas (porn star/entrepreneur) was the guest this past Monday at Scott Nevins *Presents* this past Monday night and proved himself to be the David Merrick of the porn industry. In other words, he answered all of the questions asked him in 2 ways: 1) with eye rolling because all questions were seemingly "below him" and 2) not one question was answered truthfully -- he answered in promotional terms; that is to say every question was answered with whatever he thought was gonna sell more DVDs.
Scott Nevins' show does provide you with promotion -- why else would you do it? -- but also lets the crowd see who you are as a person. Hopefully, if all goes well, the audience will love you and go out and buy your CD...or a ticket to your show...or even your film on DVD. But treat them like they're idiots who'll actually believe the crap you're spewing and they'll quickly turn against you. When asked if he preferred cut or uncut, one of his biggest stars admitted that he preferred uncut men to which Michael quickly shot back at him "No, no...you only liked cut men because that's who's buying your movies."
What bothered me most was when Scott asked him to talk about his very vocal stance on no barebacking in any of his films in order to promote safe-sex awareness and Michael Lucas just laughed it off like it was pointless to bring up. "These people don't wanna hear about that... that's a downer," he said. "They know about safe sex, right?" Then why did we get a press release from Mr. Lucas regarding him speaking about said "downer" at Yale?
"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Michael Lucas to speak at Yale
New York, NY (April 20th, 2005) — Lucas Entertainment President and CEO Michael Lucas has been invited to speak at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, on Thursday, April 21st.
The GaYalies campus group—one of the six member groups affiliated with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Cooperative at Yale—has asked Lucas to speak to students and staff about his experience in the adult industry. The talk, which will include a question and answer session, will take place at Calhoun College residential hall on campus at 4:30 pm.
"The Master's Tea is one of those programs where by someone notable who has done something of relevance and interests to the students is invited to campus to talk to students," said Yale Professor William H. Sledge, Master of Calhoun College. "Mr. Lucas came to our attention because of his responsible and clear positions on substance abuse and safe sex practices, a message that we feel is very important for youth of today."
Lucas, who founded Lucas Entertainment in 1998, was profiled by his friend Harvey Fierstein in the August 2004 issue of The Advocate because of his activism against the "barebacking" no-condom trend in the gay adult industry. In the June 2004 issue of The Advocate, Lucas took out a full-page ad to speak out against drug use within the gay community and champion safer sex practices both on-screen and off.
"I am honored to be invited to Yale to speak about these issues," said Lucas. "That a prestigious institution such as Yale recognizes them for discussion is a testament to how important and critical they are in this community right now."
It's just not important enough for the crowd at therapy.

Here's some highlights from The Glitter Ball last night:
** The whole party was similar to The White Party in Miami except without the ecstasy, GHB, or shirtless muscle boys in hideous white (spandex infused) Body/Body gear. And there was a whole helluva lotta white and silver confetti covering the rotating dancefloor.
** Marc (in my opinion) was the best dressed person there...he was dressed in a full polar bear costume and the bear's head hung from the back of his neck, as if he'd just popped it off. Reminded me of my days at Disneyland.
** The winner of Best Costume went to a guy who had dressed up as Coco Chanel (from the 20's) who brought along a female muse to model a Chanel-inspired Glitter Ball costume. Genius.
** The judges of the contest were Marc, Robert, Sofia, Debby, Anna, and Zoe.
** 3 different people asked me to play Blondie songs as Deborah Harry was there, to which I flat out refused. I was told by Donatella at her New Year's Eve party last year to "pleese play sum Bluhndee" and when I did I was shot the only looks from Miss Harry and DJ Miss Guy (there were a total of 6 people in the room at the time thus making it a bit uncomfortable...) Actually, thank God someone tipped me off in time because Sunday Girl (the French version) was on my playlist.
** Murray Hill played W.C Fields (as Santa) and Dirty Martini played Mae West (as Mrs. Clause). Come sit on Murray's lap and take a picture, kids!
** Other downtown fixtures hired for the party included: Miss Understood, Tobell Von Cartier, Lavinia Co-Op, Iggy, and the Word Famous *BOB*.
** Scott and Erik looked hot in their all white Will Rogers cowboy outfits (complete with silver lassos that hung from their sides)...here we were thinking they'd look gay...
** All in all I had a great time. I feel very fotunate to have spun this event for 2 years in a row...normally one would think they'd like something new. So I thank them MUCH.
