You know, when it rains in this city, commuting becomes a bitch. Taking a train can either be an extremely cold, humid ride on a stinky subway or you could get stuck underground when the tacks get flooded. Taking a bus will without a doubt be time-consuming (no to mention cold, humid and stinky). Your best bet, one can assume, is a cab but therein lies a big problem -- getting one. It can take 5-10 minutes sometimes... When you finally do get one, be prepared for lots of traffic -- people in this city are ridiculous about driving in the rain (though not as bad as they are in L.A.).
My point, and I do have one, is that you should leave extra early if you wanna get anywhere on time when you reside in NYC.
