1. I saw The Queen this weekend. It was fab, Helen Mirren was amazing, I wept for Diana.
My "Who Cares" Review: Go see it if not just for Helen Mirren alone.
2. I watched 4 DVDs on Saturday: X-Men 3, A Prairie Home Companion, Hard Candy, and Imitation of Life . Mutants are hot (see: Wolverine, Colossus, Mystique, Phoenix, etc.), Garrison Keillor is boring but Altman actors aren't, torturing pedophiles is fun, and why do fags always cry when they watch Lana Turner films?
My "Who Cares" Review: (X-Men 3) So-so. And too many rockin' mutants either die or are turned human. (Prairie...) Huh? What? I was asleep...sorry. (Hard Candy) Very intense, well-written, and brilliantly acted. Ellen Page is an amazing talent. (Imitation of Life) Loved, loved, loved. Not only was Sandra Dee rockin', but I'm now a huge Juanita Moore fan.
3. I just bought an iPod mixer (the iDJ2) to make my life that much easier when I spin future jobs. To think I'll only need to bring this baby and my iPod to jobs makes my shoulders and back sigh in relief.
My "Who Cares" Review: Dunno yet...I get it on Friday. Check back next week.
DAYS LEFT IN OFFICE: 826
Susan Kohner, who plays the black girl passing for white, is also amazing in "Imitation of Life" and got an oscar nom (along with Juanita Moore). Kohner is also the mother of Chris Weitz (director of About a Boy) and Paul Weitz (director of American Pie).
