To say that Keo Nozari impresses me daily is an understatement. Last week he was featured in Time Out Magazine and the following was said:
"The Scissor Sisters have been this decade's biggest such success story: Their debut album in 2004 was a huge hit, selling over a million-and-a-half copies worldwide.
Now plenty of other New York acts are eager to follow in their footsteps, including three -- Keo Nozari, Xavier and Da Lipstyxx -- who share a passion for dance music, as well as nightclub connections, a queer fanbase and major doses of talent.
"I think the real deal shines through in the end," says Keo Nozari, who has reason to toot his own horn. The singer, who is also a DJ as Therapy and other gay hangouts, has generated a strong buzz for his self-released debut album, Late Night VIP, which hit stores in November. In a name-dropping review, Billboard compared Nozari's soaring singing style to that of a young George Michael, and cited Late Night's "electro-funk-fueled pop sound" as being on par withwriter-producer Stuart Price (Madonna's Confessions on a Dancefloor) and Janet Jackson's long time collaborators, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
Like Jam, Lewis and another one of his musical idols - Prince - Nozari, who's half French and half Persian grew up a nonblond in mostly Nordic Minnesota. Ten years ago..."
