This here's my weekly CRITICAL LIST (i.e. thing that are deemed "musts"):
* mr. BLACK: I realize that I am working in this spot but I can't love it any more than I do. It's still has pretty much the same look as Table 50, but the vibe is decidedly different. Corey Tut and my new party on Tuesday nights is shaping up to be the place to go before or after Beige (check out our bartenders Tristan and Russell) Sammy Jo's party on Friday nights is a nice alternative to the uptown Opaline -- think excellent, danceable electro/pop music with a VIP lounge feel. And who better than Miss Honey Dijon to spin you into a tizzy on Saturday nights? And when she goes away on one of her many DJ engagements in other parts of the world, her substitute is a legend. Literally. (put DA maN oN Your top TEN AGendas LadIes, A'ight?) You WOULD NOT want to miss those nights...
* My new MySpace music page. I may be a late bloomer to this phenom, but when haven't I been? If you've ever wanted to hear what the mash-ups I do sound like or see the people that I'm around when spinning and out-and-about then ch-check it out. And if you've your page, send me a friend request.
* After seeing Capote a few months ago, I made a mental note to go and buy Truman Capote's In Cold Blood. Now, 3 months later, I am finally reading it and I'm here to tell you that it's amazing. Truman's attention to detail and storytelling are compelling and incredibly descriptive -- it's haunting and creepy. He may have been a selfish and narcissistic (*ahem*) person, but his talent supersedes those facts.
* 2 items, 1 subject: First, Dan Renzi is gonna be a Flamers Cheerleader for the Putas Del Fuego and he's lookin' for a "special name". Lemme tell ya that boy keeps pushing his way up my popularity ladder by the minute without even trying. HE ROCKS! Second, if you don't know who the Putas are, check out Rollergirls on A&E and you'll see why roller derby is one of my fave things to watch. The show is well done -- more documentary than reality show and I can't get enough of it. I loves me some Cha-Cha! Check out her MySpace profile here.
