Today I am recovering from partying and DJ-ing Marc Jacobs' Holiday Party held last night at Skylight Studios in West Soho. The theme this year was The Wild West and the costumes were off-da-hook. There was a group of 70's Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, a pair of cowboy boots (giant pinatas with arm holes), swingin' saloon doors (genius), Indian chiefs, saloon girls, Texas beauty queens, and backwoods hillbillies. Marc came dressed as Wilbur (the pig from Charlotte's Web) and was joined by friends Sophia Coppola, Lisa Marie and Anna Sui as well as his employees from New York, L.A., and Boston. Other fashionistas seen were Andre Leon Talley, Naomi Campbell (who Shep taught to line dance...what? what?), Richie Rich & Traver Rains from Heatherette, their muse Amanda LePore, and Brandy Wine and Brenda A. Go-Go.
My set list included: Thank God I'm A Country Boy (John Denver), 9 to 5 (Dolly Parton), On The Road Again (Willie Nelson), Devil Went Down To Georgia (Charlie Daniels), Rocky Top (The Osborne Bros.), Boot Scootin' Boogie (Brooks and Dunn), Queen Of Hearts (Juice Newton), Down At The Twist And Shout (Mary Chapin Carpenter) and Get Rhythm (Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash)
Wanna see some pix? Click here. Wanna see my own video collage? There's also a video of the party on Marc Jacobs' website with a couple of my music pix...
UPDATE: Apparently Marc lost his pig's tail on the dancefloor, a certain Marc Jacobs BBQ Pit employee found it, gave it to me and it is now sitting on my desk. Do I put it on eBay?
