I was VERY happy to see Green Day get the nominations they deserve for their album AMERICAN IDIOT. It was nominated for both album of the year and record of the year (American Idiot) as well as rock album of the year, rock song, rock performance by a group, and producer of the year (Rob Caballo). I was also happy to see The Scissor Sisters get nominated for best dance song (Comfortably Numb.) It was also no shock that the uber-annoying Usher was nominated for 8 Grammys, as was Alicia Keys. However Alicia above-and-beyond deserves the nods whereas Usher is just the flavor of the week; I still don't get what all the hype is about. Even if he came out of the closet (which may happen sooner than later...we have stories, kids) I still don't think his music is anything groundbreaking.
On a bittersweet note (no pun intended) I was both happy that Loretta Lynn received 6 nominations for VAN LEAR ROSE, but was saddened to see it left off the album of the year category. That album is my personal pick for album of the year. That lady rocks me like none other.
I just wanted to start a Socrates the Manager Fan Club.
Yum, yum.

The Boulevard of Broken Dreams, hello, so worthy! These boys are still rocking out , even though they (and I) are all getting old these days!

yeah im really excited to see that added the new category of best danceletronic album... american market is finally opening up...itll be a tight fight between Kylie (already a one time winner for come into my world), Titty Spears, and the Scissor sisters...
Yeah I am totally against the Usher craze...his music has not progressed at all. it sounds the same since 98...his chords are so bland and same ole same ole...almost all pop songs are written in thirds and all of his sonds are like that, im just like why is everyone freaking out about him when his music is hardly ground breaking or fresh sounding? I think maybe his Abs are the real star attraction to the phenom known as Ursher
