Here's some highlights from The Glitter Ball last night:
** The whole party was similar to The White Party in Miami except without the ecstasy, GHB, or shirtless muscle boys in hideous white (spandex infused) Body/Body gear. And there was a whole helluva lotta white and silver confetti covering the rotating dancefloor.
** Marc (in my opinion) was the best dressed person there...he was dressed in a full polar bear costume and the bear's head hung from the back of his neck, as if he'd just popped it off. Reminded me of my days at Disneyland.
** The winner of Best Costume went to a guy who had dressed up as Coco Chanel (from the 20's) who brought along a female muse to model a Chanel-inspired Glitter Ball costume. Genius.
** The judges of the contest were Marc, Robert, Sofia, Debby, Anna, and Zoe.
** 3 different people asked me to play Blondie songs as Deborah Harry was there, to which I flat out refused. I was told by Donatella at her New Year's Eve party last year to "pleese play sum Bluhndee" and when I did I was shot the only looks from Miss Harry and DJ Miss Guy (there were a total of 6 people in the room at the time thus making it a bit uncomfortable...) Actually, thank God someone tipped me off in time because Sunday Girl (the French version) was on my playlist.
** Murray Hill played W.C Fields (as Santa) and Dirty Martini played Mae West (as Mrs. Clause). Come sit on Murray's lap and take a picture, kids!
** Other downtown fixtures hired for the party included: Miss Understood, Tobell Von Cartier, Lavinia Co-Op, Iggy, and the Word Famous *BOB*.
** Scott and Erik looked hot in their all white Will Rogers cowboy outfits (complete with silver lassos that hung from their sides)...here we were thinking they'd look gay...
** All in all I had a great time. I feel very fotunate to have spun this event for 2 years in a row...normally one would think they'd like something new. So I thank them MUCH.
