Just finished watching White Oleander and I wasn't that impressed. Trust me, I like Lifetime Original Movies like the rest of the gays, but Morgan Fairchild could've run circles around this cheesy dialogue... And there were a few holes in the story line such as never explaining Miss Pfeiffer's boyfriend's death (i.e. what he did to deserve this posisoned milk she--I think--gave him) or what kind of evidence they had against her; she was just dramatically hauled off to prison. Did they find a trail of while Oleander petals back to her house? This is why good books don't always make great films.
Personally, I think Michelle Pfeiffer's hair styilist deserved an Oscar just for making sure her hair look perfect throughout her harrowing stay in prison. It even had that Pantene shine. And it stayed that way until she was giving her last uber-dramatic glance back at the daughter she freed...even though she, herself, was not.
So heavy.
UGH this movie! to the moon! the book though, if you read, is phenominal...by far my most favorite and it blows the movie out of the water...and the way the author writes is so poetic, it's beautiful
