Free 160gb iPod Classic this shit really works! I received mine 3 months ago (seriously) and have been using it ever since... and this is coming from a pessimist.
Do you remember when Madonna told David Lettermanshe's never eaten pizza...sorry - never eaten "in a New York pizzeria"? Well, my very own Nancy Drew (also known as Aaron) hip me to the fact that she has and there's photographic proof. See it after the jump and keep in in mind that it may not be safe for work...
I woke up with a clear mind and a renewed sense of self. I will not let fear get in my way. And, you're right, it's fear of failure, not fear success. Even admitting it feels like a failure...but admitting it is the first step. You gotta face your fears. (Video by the talented Daniel Robinson)
The man who painted one of my favorite paintings "Christina's World" has passed away in his sleep. Andrew Wyeth, for me, captured the beauty of rural America with his watercolors.
This is a piece (his most famous) that brings calmness into my life whenever I look at it... It's stunning.
I am a huge Keith Haring fan. HUGE! My love for Keith began at the young age of 12 when I was taking the train into NYC and going to HB Studios, and while waiting for the subways I noticed his chalk drawings in the empty ad spaces. I remember watching Live at 5 on NBC and Sue Simmons announced that Keith had been arrested for vandalism. This became a newsworthy story after his notoriety began - his arrests before that went practically unnoticed. The underground artist was quickly becoming the city's new favorite celeb.
A new documentary about him is opening this week and my boo-tay is gonna be one of the first to see it.
There are some artists who's work you like instantly, and Christopher Vazquez is most definitely one of them. This Miami-to-New York artist is very much into the graphic arts and gives them a hyper homoerotic spin.
And it doesn't hurt that he's sweet, intelligent and hot... Visit his site here and check him out.
After the jump I've posted 3 detailed close-ups from 3 of his kaleidescope prints.
I went to Washington D.C. for Thanksgiving and while there took a trip over to the National Gallery of Art to see the Edward Hopper exhibit. Edward Hopper has always been one of my favorite artists and after seeing a large collection of his work, he's now in my top two (next to Keith Haring). One must see Nighthawks, Chop Suey, and Summertime up close to really appreciate them.
I almost bought a print of my favorite of his works titled New York Movie, but wasn't about spending any monies on me right now before Christmas. Know what I mean? There's still time after the holidays...
If you are in the D.C. area and have not yet gone, do go see this. So very worth seeing.
